Our ministries were started in order for us to become Christ's presence in the community.
Matthew 25: 37-40 says, Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
The names of these ministries, "The Well Food Pantry" and "The Well Clothing Closet", are derived from John 4 in which Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at a well. During this encounter, Jesus accepts the woman just as she is; social barriers and taboos were broken; and, the Samaritan women received the revelation knowledge that Jesus is the Messiah. National strives to create such an encounter with each recipient, and their family, each time they enter our space.
Every second and fourth Saturday of the month, National Baptist Memorial Church opens its doors at 9:00 am. to a steady flow of people coming to receive food from our food pantry.
The Well Clothing ClosetIf you are interested in donating clothes, they can be dropped off at the church office Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:0 p.m. We accept clothes and shoes for women, men and children.
We believe that people in need deserve nice things. Therefore, all clothes donated need to be clean, stain free and without holes. If you wouldn't wear it, please do not donate it.
We have weekly Childrens Church, Sundays during service, for children ages 5-12. During the summer we have an annual summer "Explorer Camp", a six week day long summer camp which features exciting bible lessons, group activities, and weekly field trips.
